Funky Friday Song of the Day- Rufus feat. Chaka Khan

First, I LOVE CHAKA KHAN.
She has one of the most powerful soulful voices I’ve ever heard, and one of the most sharpest hip moves to this day.
“Once You Get Started”, is one of the 1st 45’s that I remember hearing in my house. And I would play it over and over again. It’s a Soulful tune with a whole lotta Funk

Funky Friday Song of the Day- Tanya Morgan feat. Nitty Scott MC

First let me say, I love female MCs….
I just discovered this tune after my weekend viewing of HOT 97 interviews with Ebro and Rosenberg
With my constant curiosity of new music, and my obsession with “celebratism”, out comes the wonderfulness of Nitty Scott MC.
I had never heard of her and honestly was attracted to her “look”.
I continued to listen and found out that she’s an MC, from Brooklyn, and thanks to youtube I discovered her collaboration with other artist. This one, with Tanya Morgan. I love the sound because it reminds me of summer

Here’s another great tune, with the amazing rapper/poet Kendrick Lamar
This tune has a very Digable Planet feel and she sounds identical to Ladybug Mecca, from the same group

Funky Friday Song of the Day- D’Angelo

WELCOME BACK D’ANGELO! We are so happy that you’ve graced us with more amazing music.
In celebration of this man’s first album in 14 years: Black Messiah, I elect D’Angelo as this week’s Afrodelik Funky Friday Song of the Day. He is a true ambassador of tha funk…you know that nasty stanky funk
I first heard D’Angelo perform “Sugar Daddy” for the 1st time on the BET awards in 2012. It was unforgettable

Funky Weekend Song of The Day- Donna Summer

My dad used to get mixed tapes done by a friend at work in the 80’s..mostly Disco. He would bring them home and I was always excited to hear the newest tunes. Dad being a Donna Summer’s fan introduced me to Donna Summer of the 80’s. On 1 of the mixed tapes was this song “I Feel Love”. I had never heard anything like it at the time and was completely hooked by its hook. I love this tune
